Terrified
-
Terrified of the way you fit in
Laugh it off
You can only pretend
There’s a man and he’s calling your name
Stay awhile pray to god
Hold the shame
Feeling it crawl underneath
Scarred skin
Pressed against
Something that
Never fit
There’s a man and he’s calling your name
Laugh it off there is nothing but pain.
Terrified of the places you’ve been
Laugh it off you can only pretend
(I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know
I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know, I don’t)
Tell me if we’re heading toward the end.
Easier
-
Waiting for a sign
Of days that never come
Maybe I am blind
I blame it on the sun
Scrambled up my brain
I tell another tale
We talk about the pain
Be afraid to fail.
Does it make it easier?
I try and sort it out
Nod and then agree
But if I’m still afraid
Would you carry me?
I scrambled up my brain
I tell another tale
We talk about the pain
And leave out no detail
Does it make it easier?
(Thank you so much for listening to Easier by Cage King. If you wouldn’t mind at the end of this song just pressing the repeat button for me one time. What that does, is it gives me a fraction of a cent from these streaming services! Thank you, please enjoy the rest of the song.)
Does it make it easier?
Down22
-
Medically induced
Culturally defined
Finding small grievances
With driving in a straight line
Coming down with a cold
Coughing up some blood
Into sharing feelings
Learning when to keep them shut
Trying different options
Slowly passing time
Your eyes are hardly open
But when they are they meet mine
And I don’t have an answer
No I don’t got a clue
All I got is options
And I’m only down to two
Initiated once
Reluctant to a fault
Bonding over bullshit
That we made up on the spot
Watching every sunrise
Skunkin out on kush
All we got is empathy in a
Forever burning bush
Feeling out of options
Always passing time
Your eyes are hardly open
Yet they always tend to meet mine
And I don’t have an answer
No I ain’t gotta clue
All I know is my options
And again we’re down to two
I’m feeling out of options
And running out of time
My eyes are barely open
Yet when they are, your’s meet mine
And I don’t have an answer
No I ain’t got a clue
All I know’s my options
And again I’m back to you
Get By (Psilocybin)
-
Cicadas comin back for the summer
All the clicking and the hissing
Loved by the esoteric
You got the back of my neck
In the palm of your hand
I’m sweating out all my demons
And you whisperBaby could you open up your eyes
Always sayin you ain’t got the time for me
Chocolate bar be breaking up the high
Hangin’ out the window and talkin to the clouds
30 til we hit the 405
I’m a Georgia boy so it’s new for me
Still you know that I’ll pull up to slide
Trippin’ off that psilocybin
Bow my head just to get byGrowing up in the southeast
Running from bugs and the police
I’ve got enough shit for me to deal with.As it is.
You talk of jealousy
Or even thoughts of sympathy
Either way I’m glad that
You are good to driveAll the lovestruck memories
Dwindled down to complacency
You don’t know what I needBaby could you open up ur eyes
Always sayin you ain’t got the time for me
Chocolate bar be breaking up the high
Hanging out the window and talkin to the clouds30 til we hit the 405
I’m a Georgia boy so it’s new for me
Still ya know that I’ll pull up to slide
Trippin off that psilocybin
Bow my head just to get byAll the lovestruck memories
Dwindled down to complacency
You don’t know what I needBaby could you open up ur eyes
Always sayin you ain’t got the time for me
Chocolate bar be breaking up the high
Hanging out the window and talkin to the clouds30 til we hit the 405
I’m a Georgia boy so it’s new for me
Still ya know that I’ll pull up to slide
Trippin off that psilocybin
Bow my head just to get by
Break The Cycle
-
Left me depressed on the
Corner near the underpass
Dreaming of meeting your parents
Knowing when I do I’ll be
Slightly underdressed
And They’ll say
Talk to God
For awhile
Maybe He will
Guide your trials
Laundry day for Mama
Let it all hang out to dry
Coffee keeps her fueled for constant crosses
Picking and choosing just what she wants to fight
And she’ll say
Talk to God
For awhile
Maybe that will
Guide your trials if you
Spare the rod, you’ll spoil the child
Saying that you gave an inch (oowoaho)
But you took miles
(yeah)
And all the pain and the pleasure’s coming back to me
We talk a lot about who really needs therapy
Maybe if we keep on fighting we’ll get clarity
It’s a vicious cycle of charity
You spare and spoil the child
Keepin talkin to God
I’ll stay senile
Spare the rod spoil the child
Different times
I’m tryna
Break the cycle
And all the pain and the pleasure’s comin back to me
Okay, break the cycle
We talk a lot about who really needs therapy
Okay, break the cycle
Underwhelming
-
Some of us don’t get so lucky
Some of us just pass on through
Some of us don’t care about money
Most of us sadly fuckin’ do
All of us seem to want something
Most of us seem to exclude
All of us are all so hungry
But most of us don’t feast like you
And I said oh
Throw me the rope and the line
To pull me back up
I’m a little over being under-whelming
I wanna shine but it’s an under-taking
Oh
Maybe I’m trauma blind
I’m stuck in the past where
Even if I was a little bit deserving
I’m so fuckin over being underwhelming.
Some of us move faster thinking
Keeping pace with what we know
Avoiding glances so they don’t see the
Red in my eyes and the hurt in my soul
And who am I to say what’s “sober”?
If I’m that way then I’ll seem dull
Another shot at dry October
Ignoring what’s been in my skull
My skull
And I said oh
Throw me the rope and the line
To pull me back up
I’m a little over being under-whelming
I wanna shine but it’s an under-taking
Oh
Maybe I’m trauma blind
I’m stuck in the past where
Even if I was a little bit deserving
I’m so fuckin over being underwhelming.
And all that I ever seem to do
Is underwhelm myself
And underwhelm all of you
So why do I even bother anymore
I’m making a run for it, yeah
And I said oh
Throw me the rope and the line
To pull me back up
I’m a little over being under-whelming
I wanna shine but it’s an under-taking
Oh
Maybe I’m trauma blind
I’m stuck in the past where
Even if I was a little bit deserving
I’m so fuckin over being underwhelming.
SINGLES
Wonderful
-
I’ve been thinking lately
What the hell is the point?
Am I made to explode?
Am I made up of noise?
Honestly baby
Yeah I’m bad to the bone
But the man that you want
Ain’t the one you got at home.
Said I’m wonderful
But your not one to fall
Not in love
Not in love
You said I’m wonderful
But you’re not one to fall
(run it back run it back run it back)
Another thing I got to ask is
Where have you been?
You said you were at work
Or you’re out with a friend
I don’t really care that much
But a spade is a spade
And the one that you had
Was digging up my grave
I’ve been on some bullshit
But I’ve always bounced back
I’m the heart attack kid
I heard I’m great in the sack
But when the party’s over
I still can’t move along
It fucked me up so badly
That I had to write this song
Denim
-
It’s a fantasy that I tend to play
Over and over inside of my headWhat a fallacy
Thought you’d be the one
But now I can feel my face turnin bright cherry redI’m too embarrassed
made a fool of myself
In front of you for the last time
My head’s on vacation while my
heart pulls me back and I start to understandYou’re writing new songs and I’m not in ‘em
You’re pacing the floors wearing your white denim
and I’m the wreck you always thought I was all along
You’re writing the wrongs after I asked you
Lettin’ me know that my love’s been past due
And I can’t make up for it now so why even try?
Cause I still got you on my mind.
How crazy to think that maybe I was wrong and I should’ve listened to you all along
I’m a stubborn man and with your helping hand I could forgive this all out but
I’m too embarrassed
I made a fool of myself in front of you for the last time
While my head’s on vacation, my heart pulls me back, and I start to get it.
No I can’t let it go
Walk U 2 Ur Car
-
It’s late as hell and it’s time to leave
Half past two or a quarter to three
I know
No I ain’t checked my phone
If it’s good for you then it’s good for me
Drink your wine, I’ll spill the tea
I don’t wanna go home aloneBut I’ll always walk you to you car
No matter how far
Away you parked
Even when it’s darkI’m a shot away from doin fine
Can’t for the life of me find the time
To put into words exactly how I feelAll my friends tell me it’s the Lord’s work
But only the devil could put me in church
I’m scared, and I don’t wanna do this anymore
DEMOS
MUSIC VIDEOS
What began as the brainchild of Harris Geiger quickly evolved into a collaborative effort involving Tim Rivera, John Doyle, and Jonathan Freeland.
A stylistic change from earlier material found the group leaning back into their alternative roots. The new EP “& The Channel of Command” evokes the group’s shared love of sonically driven rock music. With influences ranging from Bilmuri, Turnstile, and early Fall Out Boy, to the lush sounds of Sam Fender, The Band Camino, and The Night Game; CAGE KING is hitting all the key points to position themselves as one of Nashville’s most promising rising acts.
